Stephanie Venier won the Super-G in Crans Montana

Stephanie Venier (Austria) won the super-giant slalom of the Alpine Skiing World Cup for women in the Swiss winter center of Crans Montana.

Stephanie Venier, 30, was fastest on the course with 1:16.52 min and recorded her second success of the season, third of her career and first in this event. Federica Brignone (Italy), the Olympic vice-champion in the giant slalom from Beijing 2022, finished second only 0.04 sec behind the winner, and her compatriot Marta Bassino, who yesterday won the downhill in Crans Montana, finished third with a delay of 0.15 sec.

The World Cup overall leader Lara Gut-Behrami (Switzerland) finished sixth, 0.46 sec behind Stephanie Venier.

Lara Gut-Behrami now has 1,414 points in the Grand Crystal Globe standings, followed by Alpine skiing star Mikaela Shiffrin with 1,209 points, who is recovering from injury. The American injured her knee last month in Cortina d’Ampezzo and has not competed since then. It is not yet clear when she will return to the track. Third in the standings is Federica Brignone with 1128 points.

Lara Gut-Behrami leads the standings for the small crystal globe in the super-giant slalom with 360 points, five more than Cornelia Hutter (Austria). Federica Brignone is third with 326 points.
