Sonay Kartal (Great Britain) won the WTA 250 Jasmin Open title in Monastir (Tunisia). In the final, the British tennis player prevailed by 2-0 (6:3, 7:5) over Rebecca Sramkova (Slovakia) in 119 minutes. A total of 12 breaks were achieved in the match, and Sonay Kartal, who is world’s No 151, ended the match at her first opportunity.
The British player made 3 aces and 2 double faults, but also won 66% of the first serve points versus 45% for her opponent.
The WTA 250 Jasmin Open title is the first WTA title in Sonay Kartal’s career. In the current season, she became the first British woman since 1997 to participate in the third round of Wimbledon.
