Sloane Stephens won the title at the WTA 125 L’Open 35 de Saint-Malo

American tennis player Sloane Stephens won the title at the WTA 125 L’Open 35 de Saint-Malo after defeating Greet Minnen (Belgium) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:4) in 1:41 hours of play.

The 2017 US Open champion did not face any difficulties in the first set when she broke the serve of the Belgian player twice and did not give her even a breakpoint. The second set, however, started equally with both exchanging two breaks. Sloane Stephens succeeded to make another break in the 10th set, which closed the match.

On her route to the final, Sloane Stephens eliminated Elina Svitolina (Ukraine) in the semi-finals, Jessika Ponchet (France) in the quarter-finals, Freya Christie (UK) and Emeline Dartron (France).

Sloane Stephens won her 8th WTA title, and so far she is the US Open champion in 2017, as well as WTA 1000 Miami Open champion in 2018. She also won the WTA 500 Credit One Charleston Open, WTA 250 Abierto Mexicano TELCEL Presentado Por HSBC and WTA 250 ASB Classic in 2016, WTA 250 Abierto Akron Zapopan in 2022, and WTA 250 Citi Open in 2015.
