American gymnast Simone Biles continues to make history after winning the gold medal in the women’s individual all-around at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Simone Biles once again showed extremely strong gymnastics and won the title with a total of 59.131 points. She was third after the second rotation after receiving a 15.766 points on vault, but made mistakes on the mixed parallel bars and was scored 13.733 points. On the next two devices, however, the American was without competition and guaranteed herself the gold after 14.566 points on beam and 15.066 points on floor.
Simone Biles won the sixth gold medal of her career and ninth overall of the Olympics. In addition, she took her second title in the French capital after the one in the team competition with the USA team.
International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach was at the Bercy Hall in Paris to watch the great women’s competition.
Rebeca Andrade (Brazil) placed second, again as at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, with 57.932 points after receiving 15.100 points on vault, 14.666 points on mixed parallel bars, 14.133 points on beam and 14.033 points on floor.
Defending champion Sunisa Lee (USA) this time left with a bronze medal with 56.465 points (13.933, 14.866, 14.000, 13.666).
