Sifan Hassan will compete in four events at Paris 2024 Olympics

Dutch athlete Sifan Hassan has planned something extremely difficult for the Парис 2024 Olympics, which start on July 26. Sifan Hassan plans to participate in four disciplines – marathon, 1,500m, 5,000m and 10,000m. This is also confirmed by the published lists of World Athletics participants.

The two-time Olympic champion competed in three events at the 2021 Tokyo Games, where she won the 5,000m and 10,000m titles and won bronze in the 1,500m.

“This sport continues to teach me. I didn’t manage to show my best yesterday, but that only makes me more determined”, said Sifan Hassan.

Sifan Hassan is an Ethiopian-born Dutch middle- and long-distance runner. She is most recognized for her versatility in running championship and world leading performances in widely disparate distances. She completed an unprecedented triple at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, winning gold medals in both the 5,000m and 10,000m and a bronze medal for the 1,500m. Sifan Hassan is the only athlete in Olympic history to win medals across a middle-distance event and both long-distance races in a single Games. She is only the second woman to complete an Olympic distance double.
