The Dutch athletics star Sifan Hassan has set herself an extremely ambitious goal at the Paris 2024 Olympics that will push her strength to the limit. The representative of the Netherlands will participate in three disciplines on the track plus a marathon. Sifan Hassan started in three events and in Tokyo 2021, when she won the 5,000m and 10,000m titles and bronze in the 1,500m.

The 31-year-old Dutch athlete has decided to add the marathon to her program and is expected to complete around 65 km of competitive runs over the course of 9 days. This is how her program is structured during the Olympics:
August 2 – 5,000m series
August 5 – 5,000m final
August 6 – 1,500m series
August 8 – 1,500m semi-final
August 9 – 10,000m final
August 10 – 1,500m final
August 11 – Marathon

Sifan Hassan is an Ethiopian-born Dutch middle- and long-distance runner. She is most recognized for her versatility in running championship and world leading performances in widely disparate distances. Sifan Hassan is the only athlete in Olympic history to win medals across a middle-distance event and both long-distance races in a single Games. She is only the second woman to complete an Olympic distance double
