Two-time 200m world champion Shericka Jackson (Jamaica) claimed victory in her first start of the season in the event. Jamaican athlete won the 200m gold at the Marrakech Diamond League with 22.82 sec (-1.0 m/s). Maboundou Kone (Ivory Coast) fought for the second position with 22.96 sec, and Helene Parisot (France) improved her personal best and came third with 23.02 sec.
Caisja Chandler (USA) and Mujinga Kambundji (Switzerland) completed the top 5 with 23.06 sec and 23.14 sec, respectively.
Meanwhile, Jamaican athlete dominated also the 400m hurdles with Rushell Clayton earned the gold with 53.98 sec and Shiann Salmon won the silver with 54.27 sec. Ukrainian hurdles Anna Ryzhykova remained with the bronze, finishing in 55.09 sec.
Zeney Geldenhuys (South Africa) and Janieve Russell (Jamaica) completed the top 5 in the event.
