The five-time world 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce missed the Diamond League in Lausanne on Friday after an injury during the warm-up but hopes to be fit for the circuit’s next event in Brussels on September 2.

“I’ve had some discomfort for a few days and unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. As a precaution, my trainer decided not to take any chances at this point. I will have a few days to get treatment before Brussels. Thanks again for your support and encouragement. It’s hard to prepare, sometimes things just don’t go according to plan. The last thing I want to do is get injured”, said the Jamaican athlete.
