Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce became the first woman with seven runs under 10.70 sec in a single season

The five-time world 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won the event in the final round of the Zurich Diamond League to record her fifth win of the season. The Jamaican sprinter crossed the line in 10.65 sec and avenged compatriot Shericka Jackson’s loss in Brussels earlier in the month. The runner-up finished in 10.81 sec, while Ivory Coast’s Marie-Josee Ta Lou was third in 10.91 sec.

With yesterday’s run, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce became the first woman in history with seven sprints under 10.70 seconds in one season.

Olympic runner-up Marileidy Paulino set a personal best and won the 400m with a time of 48.99 sec, a record for the year.
