SG TI-Volley Innsbruck won also the second quarter-finals play-off versus PSVBG Salzburg as a guest by 1-3 (21-25; 27-25; 19-25; 22-25) in the Austrian AVL Women and qualified for the semi-finals play-off in Austrian AVL Women.
After SG TI-Volley had won the first set, the guests also seemed to be on the winning track in the second, leading among other things 12-5. But the PSVBG Salzburg women came back (15-15) and also fended off three set balls (21:24) to equalize shortly afterward. As in the first match, however, the SG TI-Volley players did not let themselves be distracted by the loss of the second set, they set the tone in the third round, were always ahead from 1-0 and deservedly took the lead back. The Salzburg women braced themselves against the impending defeat, were at eye level for a long time in the fourth set (19-19), but the big points again went to the Innsbruck women. After a thrilling two hours, SG TI-Volley volley captain Martyna Walter, the outstanding player of the evening, used the first match ball and thus secured the semi-finals.
The top scorers for the hosts were Gabrielle Attieh (16) and Patricia Maros (13), while the guests to scorers were Martyna Walter (23), Myriam Robitaille (12), Braedyn Tutton and Elisa Caria (11 each).
“The joy is huge, we haven’t been in the semifinals for a long time. The Salzburg women, but also we ourselves, did not make it easy for ourselves today. It wasn’t the best performance of the season, but we stuck together as a team. We’re growing from game to game, but we still have to work on our mental strength!”, said SG TI-Volley Innsbruck captain, Martyna Walter.
