Jovana Stevanovic is a Serbian professional volleyball player who won the Rio 2016 Olympics silver with the Serbia national team. She is a two-time world champion and once European champion with the national team, as well as Champions League and Club World Championship gold medalist, awarded as the Best middle-blocker in both.
Jovana Stevanovic was born on June 30, 1992, in Belgrade, Serbia. She started in volleyball as a kid and trained with the volleyball club OK Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, where started her professional career as well.
Jovana Stevanovic started her professional career in 2008 for Crvena Zvezda. With the club, she played for five seasons and won the Serbian Superleague and Serbian Cup four times in both competitions, was the runner-up at the CEV Cup in 2009/2010, and earned the bronze in 2010/2011. She played also in the Women’s Volleyball Champions League. Meanwhile, in the five seasons, she developed herself from the Serbian youth national team, winning the silver at the World Championships U19 2009, European Championships U18 2009, and Junior European Championships 2010, to the senior Serbian national volleyball team to win the silver at the European Golden League 2012.
In 2013, Jovana Stevanovic signed with the Italian volleyball club Pomì Casalmaggiore, which was newly promoted to Italian Serie A1. With the club, the Serbian volleyball player gained experience abroad and for five seasons became the key player that was at the heart of winning the Italian Serie A1 in 2014/2015, the Italian Supercup in 2015/2016, and the Women’s Volleyball Champions League in 2015/2016. The team also won the silver at the Club World Championship and the bronze at the CEV Cup in 2016/2017. Meanwhile, with the Serbian national volleyball team, Jovana Stevanovic won the silver at the Rio 2016 Olympics and FIVB World Cup 2015, as well as the World Championships title in 2018. At the European Championships, she won the gold in 2017 and the bronze in 2015.
Jovana Stevanovic signed with Savino Del Bene Scandicci in 2018 to play two seasons with the volleyball club. Her team won the bronze at the Italian Serie A1 and Italian Cup, as well as finished 5th at the Women’s Volleyball Champions League.
In 2020, she signed with Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio to win the bronze at the Champions League 2020/2021. In the next season, she became a world champion with Serbian for the second time. Meanwhile, she won the bronze at the Italian Cup and Volleyball Nations League.
In 2022, Jovana Stevanovic played for one season with Vero Volley Milano Italy to win the silver at the Italian Serie A1 and Italian Cup, as well as silver with the national team at the European Championships 2023.
In 2023, Jovana Stevanovic signed with the Turkish volleyball club Eczacibasi Dynavit to win the Club World Championship, when was awarded Best Middle-blocker.
