The reigning champions Serbia remained the only unbeaten team at the Women’s Volleyball World Cup.
The team of the Italian coach Daniele Santarelli won against the hosts of Poland by 3-0 (26:24, 25:22, 25:18) in Lodz in the first leg of the second phase of the championship, leading Group F with six wins and 17 points.
The Serbian women had more problems only at the end of the first game, in which they squandered a lead of 21:15 points and it was tied at 24:24, but with two consecutive plays, they still won the part. Until the end, the world champions dominated and deservedly achieved success.
Captain Tijana Boskovic was the top scorer with 14 points and Jovana Stevanovic added 11.
Olivia Rozanski was the best for the Poles with 17 points.
The pursuers of the leaders – the USA and Turkey – also achieved victories. The American women, who are the Olympic champions from Tokyo 2020, beat the Dominican Republic by 3-1 (21:25, 25:19, 25:20, 25:14) and with 15 points kept second place, and Turkey prevailed over Germany with 3-0 (25:21, 25:18, 25:21) and are third with 14 points.
