Sarah Sjostrom won the gold women’s 100m swimming freestyle

Sarah Sjostrom (Sweden) won the gold medal in the women’s 100m freestyle at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The legendary Swedish swimmer outpaced her competitors, finishing in 52.16 sec and was 20 hundredths off the Olympic record in the event – ​​51.96 sec of Emma McKeon (Australia).

For 30-year-old Sarah Sjostrom, who holds the record with 23 individual medals from world swimming championships, this was her first Olympic title.

Torri Huske (USA) took silver with a time of 52.29 sec, while Siobhan Bernadette Haughey (Hong Kong), an Olympic runner-up in Tokyo three years ago, took bronze with 52.33 sec.
