Sandra Perkovic Elkasevic attacks her seventh European title in the women’s discus throw

Sandra Perkovic Elkasevic is definitely one of the biggest names in women’s discus throw. The 33-year-old Croatian athlete is a two-time Olympic, two-time world and six-time European champion in the discipline. And in Rome in a few days (June 7-12) Sandra Perkovic Elkasevic will try to win her seventh European title. However, the task this time will not be so easy.

Two years ago, Sandra Perkovic faced one of the most serious challenges in Munich, when she won the title by just 8 centimeters from the second-placed Kristin Pudenz (Germany).

Sandra Perkovic Elkasevic is also a six-time Diamond League winner, prevailing in 46 circuit’s meetings. She was awarded Croatian sportswoman of the year by Sportske novosti nine times and Croatian sportswoman of the year by Croatian Olympic Committee in 2022.

On the top of the World titles, she has two silver medals and one bronze.
