Russian tennis star Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova will be out for 10 weeks due to a knee injury

The French Open runner-up Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova will be out for about 10 weeks due to a knee injury, she announced on her Twitter account.

The 30-year-old Russian tennis player reached the highest position in the world rankings in her career – No 11 in November last year after a strong season.

In the final of the Grand Slam tournament in Paris, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova lost to the Czech Barbora Krejcikova with 1-2 (1:6, 6:2, 4:6).

“Hello. Unfortunately, I will miss the next 10 weeks due to a knee injury from which I have not yet recovered. I am following the process of rehabilitation and everything I need to return to the court soon and be in good physical shape again”, wrote Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

The Russian contracted the coronavirus before this year’s edition of the Australian Open and reached the third round.

She missed tournaments in St Petersburg, Dubai, and Doha due to knee pain.
