Rushell Clayton targets winning a 400m hurdles gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics

Two-time world 400m hurdles bronze medalist Rushell Clayton (Jamaica) has set her sights high for Paris 2024 Olympics. The 31-year-old Jamaican athlete intends to be on the podium again, but her biggest desire is to win the gold medal.

“The goal is always to win gold, and for me it’s always to be in the top three”, said Rushell Clayton.

She has a personal best in the event of 52.81 sec from the Budapest World Athletics Championships in August 2023. However, she is hoping for a sub-51 second run in Paris to challenge for gold.

Rushell Clayton certainly has to first break compatriot Melaine Walker’s national record of 52.42 sec.

Rushell Clayton is a Jamaican athlete specializing in the 400m hurdles. She won the bronze medal, finishing in third place, at the 2019 World Championships and again at the 2023 World Championships. She became the first Jamaican Woman since 2011 to break 53 sec in the 400m Hurdles.
