Teodora Meluta, also known shortly as Teo Meluta, is a Romanian soccer player who plays as a defender for Politehnica Timisoara in the Romanian Liga 1 Feminin and the Romania women’s national team.
Teodora Meluta was born on August 3, 1999, in Bucharest, Romania. She was introduced to football at an early age and the local team coaches quickly found her talent.
In 2015, Teodora Meluta started her professional career for the club Olimpia Cluj. The same season, only 15 years old, she debuted for the Romania national team during the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying cycle. She stayed in Olimpia Cluj for 6 years, playing 112 matches and winning Romanian Liga 1 Feminin 5 times – 2015/2016, 2016/2017, 2017/2018, 2018/2019, and 2020/2021. Also with the club, she won two Cupa Romaniei Feminin in 2016/2017 and 2020/2021.
On January 26, 2021, it was announced that she was transferring to the Swiss club Lugano. Unfortunately, after just seven matches, Teo Meluta suffered a fracture of the tibia-fibula and needed surgery. In August 2021, she came back to Romania and signed up to play for her former team Politehnica Timișoara.
During her career, she was twice announced as Romanian Footballer of the Year.
