Reyer Venezia took advantage in Italy’s Serie A1 Women basketball playoffs

Reyer Venezia took advantage in Italy’s Serie A1 Women basketball playoffs after winning their visitor match versus Virtus Bologna by 62-92 (13-20; 22-23; 12-20; 15-29). Thus, Reyer Venezia is closer to qualifying for the semi-finals of the playoffs.

Reyer Venezia started the match more aggressively and took advantage with 7 points already in the first minutes. Virtus Bologna made an attempt to return in the match, melting the advantage to only 2 points, but at the end, the first quarter ended 13-20.

The second quarter started quite more equally. Even in the middle of the quarter Virtus Bologna again succeeded to get closer to their opponent and made result 23-27, but this was the best they can and lost the initiative at the final minutes, which allowed Reyer Venezia to keep their advance and the quarter ended with result 35-43.

The third quarter put the end of the match with four serial strikes of Reyer Venezia. They took an advance of 16 points (35-51). Despite slight impetus from their opponents in the middle, the quarter ended with a result of 47-63.

The fourth quarter showed total domination of Reyer Venezia. Their opponents were just waiting for the match to end. And it ended with a result of 62-92.

Yvonne Anderson was the best player for Reyer Venezia with 18 pts, 7 rebs, and 3 asts. The American Natasha Howard also performed great for the team with 16 pts, 7 rebs, and 3 asts.

Croatian basketball player Ana-Marija Begic was the best for Virtus Bologna with 16 pts and 5 rebs.
