Bulgarian athlete Radina Velichkova achieved the biggest success of her career after winning the gold medal at the Banska Bystrica European U18 Athletics Championships with a new national record of 11.46 sec (0.9 m/s). The Bulgarian athlete started excellently and did not allow the lead until the end of the discipline. In the semi-finals, she also achieved a national record of 11.47 sec.
The silver medal went to Shade Laporal (France) with a personal record of 11.54 sec, and Miia Ott (Estonia) earned the bronze with 11.62 seconds.
Uliana Stepaniuk (Ukraine) and Lena Anochili (Germany) completed the Top 5 in the final.
Meanwhile, Silvie Daneckova (Czech republic) won the 200m gold at the Banska Bystrica European U18 Athletics Championships with 23.90 sec, while Suri Stohr (Austria) remained with the silver and Maja Wozniak (Poland) earned the bronze.
In women’s 400m, Anastazja Kus (Poland) triumphed with the gold with 53.91 sec, while Lenka Gymerska (Slovakia) and Laura Frattaroli (Italy) won the silver and bronze, respectively.
