Portuguese athlete Fatoumata Binta Diallo

Fatoumata Binta Diallo is a Portuguese athlete, competing in sprint distances and hurdles with her main event being 400m hurdles.

Fatoumata Binta Diallo was born on April 23, 2000. She loved sports and started in athletics at an early age.

Fatoumata Binta Diallo made her athletics official debut in 2015, winning the Parchal event in 100m and 400m and participating at the Fatima Portuguese U18 Championships in 200m and the 13th European Youth Olympic Festival in Tbilisi, but did not enter the final race.

In 2016, she won the bronze medal at the Pombal Portuguese Club Championships in 400m. In the next season, she continues gaining experience and improving her results, winning the gold medals at the Faro Regional Winter Championships in 60m, 200m, and 400m. She also won the gold at the Marinha Grande Portuguese U20 Championships and the silver at the Pombal Portuguese Indoor Club Championships in 400m. In 300m, she won the gold at the Abrantes Portuguese U18 Championships and the silver at the Pombal Portuguese U18 Indoor Championships.

Fatoumata Binta Diallo won the gold at the 2018 Pombal Portuguese U20 Indoor Championships in 400m, as well as Faro Meeting Vitor Tavares and Liboa event in the same distance.

In 2019, the Portuguese athlete started also competing in hurdles. She won the gold at the Portuguese Indoor Club Championships in 400m, as well as silver at the Portuguese U20 Championships in 400m hurdles. She was part of the Portuguese relay at the European U20 Championships in 4x100m.

In 2020, Fatoumata Binta Diallo was very close to winning a medal at the Portuguese Indoor Championships in 60m, finishing 4th. However, she won several regional championships and meetings and was close to qualifying for the final of the French U23 Indoor Championships.

Fatoumata Binta Diallo won the bronze at the 2021 Portuguese U23 Championships in 400m hurdles. She also competed at 100m but remained in 5th position outside the medals zone. Fatoumata Binta Diallo competed at the European Athletics U23 Championships in Tallinn in 400m hurdles but failed to qualify for the final.

In 2022, she won the gold at the Championnat de France des clubs in 4x400m relay, Meeting de l’Eure in 60m, and Meeting de Savigny in 200m, as well as the silver at the French U23 Championships in 400m hurdles. She competed at the Mediterranean Athletics U23 Championships in 400m hurdles but remained 5th in the final.

In 2023, she won the gold at the Championnats de France Nationaux en salle in 400m, as well as the silver at the 4x400m relay.
