Maria Stenzel is a professional Polish volleyball player, who plays as a Libero for the volleyball club MOYA Radomka Radom and the Poland women’s national volleyball team. She is the Women Volleyball Nations League bronze medalist and Montreux Volley Masters gold medalist with the national team, as well as Polish champion and Supercup holder with the clubs she played.
Maria Stenzel was born on November 25, 1998, in Koscian, Poland. She started in volleyball at school and after showing great talent developed her skills at the junior team of UKS ZSMS Poznan. Already in 2015, she was called for the Poland junior national team to play at the European Youth Olympic Festival and Women’s World Championships U19.
Maria Stenzel started her professional career in 2015 for SMS PZPS Szczyrk to play in the Polish 1. Liga Kobiet. During her maiden season, her team finished 9th in the league and 21st in the Polish Cup. She also played for the junior national team for the European Championship Qualification U19. In the 2016/2017 season, Maria Stenzel continued playing for the team in Polish 1. Liga Kobiet and Polish Cup, but in the mid-season made a transfer to the elite volleyball club VolleyWroclaw, finishing 4th at the TAURON Liga and winning the bronze at the Polish Cup. With the national team, she played in the World Championships U20 2017, where finished 6th.
In the 2017/2018 season, Maria Stenzel continued playing for VolleyWroclaw, finishing the season in 10th place in the TAURON Liga and 9th in the Polish Cup. With the Poland women’s national volleyball team she played at the Volleyball Nations League 2018 and Montreux Volley Masters 2018.
In 2018, Maria Stenzel signed with the Polish Supercup champion Grot Budowlani Lodz. She stayed in the club for 3 seasons, winning the silver at the TAURON Liga in 2018/2019, winning the Polish Supercup, and was Polish Cup runner-up in the 2020/2021 season, as well as earned the bronze with her club at the PreZero Grand Prix PLS 2020/2021. Maria Stenzel also played in the Champions League. Meanwhile, with the national team, she won the Montreux Volley Masters 2019 and played at the Volleyball Nations League and European Championships in 2019 and 2021.
Maria Stenzel signed with the Polish champion Grupa Azoty Chemik Police in 2021. In her maiden season with the club, she won the TAURON Liga and was the runner-up at the Polish Supercup, but also finished 9th in the Champions League. In the next season, her team won the Polish Cup, was the runner-up in the Polish Supercup, and earned the silver at the PreZero Grand Prix PLS 2022/2023. Meanwhile, with the national volleyball team Maria Stenzel earned the bronze at the Volleyball Nations League 2023 and also played at the World Championships 2022 and he European Championships 2023.
In 2023, Maria Stenzel signed with her current club MOYA Radomka Radom.
