Monika Romaszko is a Polish track and field athlete, who competes in short-distance sprints and hurdles. She is a European Team Championships and World University Games silver medalist, as well as a European U20 Championships bronze medalist. She is one of the talents of Polish athletics and one of the best sprinters in the country.
Monika Romaszko was born on April 13, 2002. She started in sports as a kid and showed great skills in athletics and sprints.
Monika Romaszko started her competitive career in 2017, winning the 200m bronze at the Biala Podlaska Meeting. During the next season, she debuted at the junior national championships, winning the 60m bronze at the Torun Polish U18 Indoor Championships. She showed great skills and also made her 100m debut at the Lublin Polish Championships, but failed to qualify for the finals. Meanwhile, she debuted at international competitions, competing in 100m hurdles at the Gyor European U18 Championships and Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games, but unfortunately missed the honors in both. At the Gyor European U18 Championships, she also competed in the 1000m sprint medley but did not overcome the heats.
In 2019, Monika Romaszko showed her great skills and talent in sprints, winning the 100m and 100m hurdles silver at the Poznan Polish U18 Championships, but also earned the 100m hurdles gold at the Radom Polish U20 Club Championships, as well as 100m gold at the Grand Prix Lublin and Siedlce LZS Games. At the Radom Polish Championships, she finished 4th in the 4x100m relay but failed to reach the finals at individual events in 100m and 100m hurdles.
Monika Romaszko started the 2020 season by winning the 60m hurdles bronze at the Torun Polish U20 Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, she continues with her strong performance at the junior competitions, winning the 100m hurdles gold at the Bialystok Polish Team Championships and the 100m hurdles bronze at the Lublin Polish Club Championships.
In 2021, Monika Romaszko was part of the 4x100m relay team of Poland for the Tallinn European Athletics U20 Championships, winning the bronze, and Nairobi World Athletics U20 Championships, finishing 4th in the final. Meanwhile, she earned the 100m silver and 200m bronze at the Liblin Polish U20 Championships.
In 2022, Monika Romaszko competed entirely in local competitions but failed to earn her first podium at the senior national championship. However, she won the 100m gold at the Memorial Andrzeja Kleczka in Lublin, as well as honors from local and regional competitions.
Monika Romaszko had a successful season in 2023, winning the 4x100m relay silver at the Chengdu FISU World University Games, and Chorzow European Athletics Team Championships First Division. Moreover she won the bronze at the Wloclawek Polish U23 Championships and silver at the Lubelskie Koziolk in 100m.
In 2024, Monika Romaszko started the season by winning the 60m gold at the Rzeszow Ogolnopolski halowy mityng POZLA. During the outdoor season, she won the 100m gold at the Bialystok Polish Univeristy Championships and competed at the Nassau World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24. Although did not win a medal in the world relays, the team qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
