World and Olympic pole vault champion Katie Moon will return to the strong athletics tournament in Lieven (France) on February 10. The competition is part of the Golden Label’s World Indoor Athletics Tour.
The American won first place in Lieven in 2019, then returned again in 2022 and earned the bronze. Last year she won with 4.83m, and this winter she has set her sights on attacking the tournament record of 4.89m.
Katie Moon has won titles at the last three major championships – Olympic gold in Tokyo in 2021, world indoor gold in 2022 and the planetary outdoor title in 2023. In Budapest, she shared first place with Nina Kennedy (Australia).
The American’s personal records are 4.95m outdoors and 4.94m indoors.
Katie Moon was also 2019 Pan American Games silver medalist.
