Pia Skrzyszowska was awarded the best female athlete in Europe for January 2023

The European 100m hurdles champion Pia Skrzyszowska was awarded as the best female athlete in Europe for the month of January. She earned the most fan votes on Facebook and Instagram.

The Polish athlete is having an incredible season, currently leading the world rankings for the season in the 60m hurdles with 7.78 sec. She also triumphed at the home tournament ORLEN Copernicus Cup in Torun with 7.79 sec. The achievement is a new tournament record.

Pia Skrzyszowska, 21, is among the favorites for the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul in March and targets Sweden’s athlete Susanna Kallur’s world record (7.68sec) from 2008.

Pia Skrzyszowska is a Polish athlete specializing in sprint hurdles. She won in the 100m hurdles gold medals at the 2022 European Championships and 2021 European Under-23 Championships, as well as a silver at the 2019 European U20 Championships.
