Petra Kvitova Miami Open final

Petra Kvitova is in the final of the WTA 1000 Miami Open. The Czech tennis player defeated Sorana Cirstea (Romania) by 2-0 (7:5, 6:4) in a match that lasted 1:43 hours. Thus, she will face Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) for the title of the Masters’ tournament with a prize pool of 8.8 million USD.

Sorana Cirstea started the match perfectly with a break in the sixth game, which brought her an advance of 4:2. Petra Kvitova needed to save two set points in the first set after Sorana Cirstea served for it at a result of 5:3. However, the Czech player succeeded to save the set points and to break the serve of her opponent. After three consecutive games in her favor, Petra Kvitova closed the set at 7:5.

In the second set, Petra Kvitova took an early lead with a break in the first game already. This proved to be enough for her to win the set without allowing any break in it.

Thus, Petra Kvitova won by 2-0 and reached the final of the WTA 1000 Miami Open, where she will face Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan), who is in a series of 11 consecutive wins and at the beginning of March won WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open.

Petra Kvitová is a two-time Grand Slam champion, winning Wimbledon in 2011 and 2014. She has a total of 29 career singles titles.
