Paula Badosa upsets the world’s No 2 Aryna Sabalenka at the start of the WTA Finals Guadalajara. The Spanish tennis player won by 2-0 (6:4, 6:0) for 77 minutes.

The bad service of the top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka was the main reason for her loss in the match. The Belarusian player made 7 double faults and had 44% of 1st Serve Percentage. On the other hand, Paula Badosa scored 5 aces and won 71% of 1st Serve Points.

The first set started with a service of Aryna Sabalenka won it very hard after deuce. Both players won their next service games. In the fourth game, the Belarusian player had a chance to break the service of Paula Badosa but missed two breakpoints. However, in the sixth game, Aryna Sabalenka succeeds to break the service of the Spanish player. It looked that the Belarusian player will win the set, but Paula Badosa returned the break immediately and with four consecutive games won the set by 6:4.

The second set was the total dominance of Paula Badosa, as Aryna Sabalenka looked quite unstable on the court. The Spanish player started the set with a break on 15 and saved a breakpoint in the second game. After the second break, Aryna Sabalenka won only two points by the end of the set and lost by 6:0.

The next match of Paula Badosa is versus the Greek Maria Sakkari, while Aryna Sabalenka will face the Polish player Iga Swiatek.
