Paula Badosa smashed Daria Kasatkina at the start of the WTA 500 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart

Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa smashed the 7th-seeded Daria Kasatkina (Russia) at the start of the WTA 500 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix clay tournament in Stuttgart. The Spanish played won the match by 2-0 (6:1, 6:1) in only 71 minutes.

Daria Kasatkina was not in the best form and made a lot of unforced errors and three double faults.

In the first set, Paula Badosa won the four opening games and did not give even a breakpoint to her opponent, closing the set with her third break at 6:1. In the second set, despite both exchanging a serving game in the beginning, the Spanish player won the next 5 games and closed the set again at 6:1.

In the second round, Paula Badosa will face her compatriot Cristina Bucsa, who defeated Tamara Korpatsch (Germany) by 2-1 (3:6, 6:4, 6:0).

Donna Vekic (Croatia) also advanced to the second round after defeating Ekaterina Alexandrova (Russia) by 2-0 (7:6, 7:6), while Qinwen Zheng (China) needed 104 minutes to eliminated Alycia Parks (USA) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4).

Beatriz Haddad Maia (Brazil) advanced to the second round after a retirement of Martina Trevisan (Italy) in the second set.
