The Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa made a fantastic comeback in her first round match of the Roland Garros versus Katie Boulter (UK) to win by 2-1 (4:6, 7:5, 6:4). The match lasted more than two hours and 8 minutes.
The experienced Spanish player, who is battling a chronic injury, lost the first set in which she conceded two breaks to her opponent.
The second set started again in favor of Katie Boulter, who quickly took a 2:0 lead and looked a step away from the final victory. However, Paula Badosa managed to break back at 4:4, saved three break points by serving for 6:5, then took the Briton’s serve to equalize the sets.
The third set started with exchanged breaks for 1:1, but Paula Badosa was more concentrated at the end and realized her first match point on the break for 6:4.
In the second round of the French Open / Roland Garros tennis tournament, Paula Badosa will face Yulia Putintseva (Kazakhstan), who eliminated Sloane Stephens (USA) after 2-0 (6:2, 6:1).
