Paris Saint-Germain footballer Aminata Diallo has been released from custody without charge, but French police are continuing their investigation into her physical violence against her teammate.
Aminata Diallo and another person, currently unidentified, were detained for questioning on Wednesday for physically assaulting her teammate and fellow midfielder Kheira Hamraoui. The suspects were released on Thursday without charge, but the investigation continues.
The local media reveals details about the events that took place on the evening of November 4. According to the publication, then three of the PSG players were returning by car after a club party. One of them was Aminata Diallo, who was driving. However, they were ambushed by two masked assailants. They pulled another of the contestants, Kheira Hamraoui, out of the car and struck her repeatedly on the legs with iron rods. Aminata Diallo has been detained because she is suspected of having hired the strikers in question to injure her teammate so that the 26-year-old midfielder can play for PSG instead.
Kheira Hamraoui returned to Paris Saint-Germain this summer after a stay in Barcelona.
