The star of the Italian national volleyball team, Paola Egonu, will return to the Italian Serie A1.
The 24-year-old volleyball player, who, for now, decided to retire from Italian national volleyball team after the 2022 World Cup, this season plays for the Turkish giant VakıfBank (Istanbul), but according to Italian and Turkish media, she has accepted the offer of Vero Volley (Milan) for next season.
Paola Egonu, who about a month ago complained about racism in her homeland, will move to Vero Volley for the amount of 1,000,000 USD per season.
Thus, the team from Milan will be 5th for her after Club Italia Crai, Igor Gorgonzola Novara, Imoco Volley Conegliano, and VakıfBank.
Thus, in the pre-Olympic year 2023, Paola Egonu will play together in Vero Volley with her teammates from the Italian national team Miriam Sylla, Alessia Orro and Raphaela Folie.
Paola Egonu participated at the 2018 Montreux Volley Masters, 2018 FIVB Volleyball World Championship, and 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League.
