Olympic cross-country skiing champion Therese Johaug (Norway) won a half-marathon race in the Norwegian town of Grue. The 35-year-old skier from Norway was the fastest at 21.1km course with a time of 1:11:25 hours.
“It was very hard, but also very fun”, said the Norwegian after the final, who is trying her hand at such a road race for the first time, but not the first time she participated in an athletics race. In 2019, she became the champion of Norway at 10,000m with 32:20.86 min. And a year later she ran 10,000m again in 31:40.69 min.
Therese Johaug is a four-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing. In Beijing 2022, won gold in 15km skiathlon, 10km classic style and 4x5km relay, while in Vancouver 2010 – the gold in the 4×5 km relay. In addition, in Sochi 2014, she won a silver medal in the 30km freestyle and a bronze medal in the 10km classic. In addition, she has 14 world titles in her career.
In 2022, the Norwegian announced her retirement from active racing, but this year she said she may change her mind if she is back in top form. Her ambitions are to compete until the world championships in Trondheim in 2025.
