Olympic and World Champion Athing Mu will train with coach Bobby Kersee

Athing Mu will prepare to defend her title at 800m at the Paris 2024 Olympics under the leadership of coach Bobby Kersee, who has already brought to the Olympic title at 400m hurdles to Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. Thus, the 20-year-old American athlete will move from Texas to Los Angeles to be part of his new training group.

“I am excited about the opportunity to train with the legend of athletic Bobby Kersee. Coach Kersee has the ability to further improve my running skills and to apply the tools needed to achieve my potential”, wrote she wrote on social networks.

She won the 800m Tokyo 2020 Olympics title, beating British Keely Hodgkinson. The American finished first with a new US record of 1:55.21 min.

This year, she again defeated her British rival at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene and became the youngest woman in history, who has an Olympic and world title in individual discipline on the track.
