Serbian tennis player Olga Danilovic won the title of the WTA 250 Guangzhou Open hard court tennis tournament with a prize fund of 267,082 USD.
In the final, she defeated American qualifier Caroline Dolehide by 2-0 (6:3, 6:1) in 75 minutes to claim her first trophy of the season and second of her career.
Olga Danilovic, who is world’s No 8 , whose previous triumph came on clay in Moscow six years ago, broke in the fifth game of the first set in her first final on hard court. After taking the first set, the 23-year-old Serbian looked distracted by the movement of the stands and lost her serve early in the second, but then won six straight games to close out the match.
Olga Danilovic won her first WTA Tour singles title in Moscow in July 2018, beating Anastasia Potapova in the final. She has also won seven singles titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit.
