Nina Kennedy won the pole vault gold at the Zurich Diamond League

One of the two Budapest 2023 pole vault world champions, Nina Kennedy, won the Zurich Diamond League competition, which took place outside the stadium yesterday. The main part of the competition will take place tonight.

The Australian set a new European record, a personal best, a meeting record and a world best for the season of 4.91m. She managed to cover this height on her first try.

Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion and Budapest co-gold medalist Katie Moon (USA) earned the silver with 4.81m, while multiple world championships medalist and compatriot Sandi Morris remained with bronze, achieving 4.76m.

Angelica Moser (Switzerland) remained fourth, just a step from the honors, with 4.66m, while Molly Caudery was fifth.

Nina Kennedy is an Australian athlete who holds the national record in the pole vault. She competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and won gold in the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2023 World Athletics Championships. She is also Diamond League 2022 champion in the pole vault.
