The Australian athlete Nina Kennedy smashed the competition in the pole vault at the Paris Diamond League, winning the gold with 4.77m. The athlete returned on the track after stress fracture in her back and finished third in the last week’s Diamond League competition
“The injury gave me a chance to go back to basics and do a lot of strength work”, said Nina Kennedy. “I feel like a different athlete now and it’s really refreshing. Now it’s about trying to use everything I gained over that time”, added she.
Nina Kennedy competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and won gold in the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Margot Chevrier (France) finished second, while Katie Moon (USA) remained with bronze.
The Finnish athlete Wilma Murto remained 4th, while Sandi Morris (USA) was 5th.
Meanwhile, Auriol Dongmo (Portugal) won the gold in women’s shot put, while Chase Ealey (USA) and Maggie Ewen (USA) remained with silver and bronze, respectively.
Valarie Allman (USA) dominated the women’s discus throw, overtaking the two-time Olympic and world champion and a record six-time European champion Sandra Parkovic (Croatia) and Kristin Pudenz (Germany).
