The pole-vault world co-champion Nina Kennedy took top honors in her home country of Australia after her memorable performance at the World Championships in Budapest, where she shared the world pole vault title with Olympic champion Katie Moon after both cleared 4.90m.
Nina Kennedy was awarded the Bruce McAvaney Award for Performance of the Year at the Athletics Australia Awards.
During the 2023 season, Nina Kennedy also won the pole vault gold at the Paris Diamond League and Weltklasse Diamond League in Zurich. She is bronze medalist a the 2022 Eugene World Athletics Championships, as well as the champion of the 2022 Diamond League and 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Nina Kennedy jumped while injured, with a 4.40m clearance that placed 12th in her qualifier. Later the same season she raised the Australian record to 4.82m at the 2021 Sydney Track Classic.
