The Polish sprinter Natalia Kaczmarek smashed the competition and won the 400m gold at Silesia Diamond League in Poland. The 2022 Munich European Championships silver medalist set a new meeting record and personal best in the event with 49.48 sec.
Lieke Klaver remained second in the event with a personal best of 49.81 sec, while the bronze went to Marileidy Paulino (Dominican Republic) with 50.00 sec.
Candice McLeod (Jamaica) and Sada Williams (Barbados) remained out of the honors zone, finishing fourth and fifth with 50.19 sec and 50.34 sec, respectively.
Natalia Kaczmarek is a Polish athlete sprinter who specializes in the 400m. She won the silver medal in the event at the 2022 European Championships. Natalia Kaczmarek earned several global medals as part of 4x400m relays, including gold in the mixed event and silver in the women’s event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She was 2019 European under-23 champion in 400m.
Meanwhile, Kenyan athlete Mary Moraa won the 800m event at the Silesia Diamond League with 1:56.85 min, improving the seasons best and meeting record. The silver went to Halimah Nakaayi (Uganda) with 1:57.78 min, setting a new national record, while the bronze was for Natoya Goule-Toppin (Jamaica) with 1:57.90 min.
