Naomi Osaka defeated the American representative and 9th-seeded Danielle Rose Collins and qualified for the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 Miami Open. The Japanese tennis player and former WTA No 1 needed 59 minutes to close the match with 2-0 (6:2, 6:1).
The first set started equally for both players, winning the first serve games without any problems. However, At the result 2:2 Naomi Osaka succeeded to register the first break and this was a turning point in the set. The Japanese tennis player won the next four games and closed the set by 6:2.
The second set was quite similar as Naomi Osaka broke her American opponent in the third game and after that did not give a chance to Danielle Collins, closing the set with 6:1.
In the semi-finals, Naomi Osaka will face Belinda Bencic, who smashed Daria Saville by 2-0 (6:1, 6:2) in 69 minutes.
