Mujinga Kambundji showed excellent form and won the Swiss national title in 60m

The Swiss sprinter Mujinga Kambundji showed excellent form less than three weeks before the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Belgrade. She won the Swiss national title in the 60m with 7.05 sec. This is only 0.02 seconds slower than Switzerland’s national record, which she shares with the European champion from Torun 2021 Ajla Del Ponte, who missed the championship due to injury.

Geraldine Frey improved to a personal best of 7.15 sec to finish second in the final.

In the women’s 60m hurdles, European 100m hurdles champion Ditaji Kambundji won the title with 7.97 sec and Noemi Zbaeren finished second with 7.99 sec.

Mujinga Kambundji is a Swiss sprinter. She won the bronze medal at the 2019 World Championships in the 200m event. She is also the bronze medalist at the 2018 Birmingham World Indoor Championships in 60m, 2016 Amsterdam European Championships in 100m, and 2017 Belgrad European Indoor Championships in 60m.
