Rising Russian tennis star Mirra Andreeva celebrated her 16th birthday with another prestigious win at the WTA 1000 Miami Open tournament. This time, the Russian wild card player eliminated 17th seed and Australian Open semi-finalist Magda Linette by 2-0 (6:3, 6:3) in 87 minutes and qualified for the Round of 16.

In the second round, Mirra Andreeva became the seventh youngest of the new millennium to beat a top-20 player when she defeated the 13th-seeded Beatriz Haddad Maia.
