Mirela Demireva will represent Bulgaria at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Belgrade. The runner-up from Rio 2016 Olympics will be the only athlete from the country at the forum from March 18th to 20th in the Serbian capital.
Mirela Demireva won the Balkan indoor title in Istanbul on March 5th with 192 cm, and her season-best this winter is 193 cm at a tournament in Banska Bystrica in mid-February, sharing 11th place in the world indoor rankings.
The Australian Eleanor Patterson is the leader for 2022 indoors with 199 cm.
Mirela Demireva is a Bulgarian high jumper. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016, Demireva won a silver medal, jumping 197 cm. She also won two consecutive silver medals at the European Championships (2016–18). Her personal best jump is 200 cm, achieved in June 2018 at the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm.
