The Serbian athletes Milica Gardasevic and Angelina Topic achieved the most serious results at the Filothei Women Gala tournament in Athens, Greece.
In her first competition since the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul, where she surprisingly failed to make the final, Milica Gardasevic cleared 6.74m in the long jump to top the continental rankings for the season.
Her Serbian teammate Angelina Topic, still only 17 years old, cleared 1.94m and then had three attempts at 1.97m, but none of them were successful. Last year, Angelina Topic won bronze at the European Women’s Championships in Munich and became the under-18 world champion.
The Greek star Katerina Stefanidi recorded success in the pole vault with 4.37m.
On the track, Cypriot Natalia Christofi won the 100m hurdles with 13.02 sec, and Poland’s Magdalena Stevanovic won the 100m with 11.61 sec (1.2 m/s).
