Miesha Tate returns on the Octagon in July

Former UFC bantamweight champ Miesha Tate will come back on the Octagon, as will face veteran Marion Reneau at a UFC event set for July 17. Although the exact event location is not yet confirmed, familiar with the UFC fight card confirmed it.

Marion Reneau said that her fight with Miesha Tate will serve as her retirement bout. The veteran fighter suffered her fourth consecutive loss in her previous performance, falling short on points against Macy Chiasson earlier this month at UFC Vegas 22.

Miesha Tate retired from MMA in 2016 after losing a unanimous decision to Raquel Pennington at UFC 205, one fight removed from losing her belt to current champion Amanda Nunes.

She won the title at UFC 196 versus Holly Holm with an incredible come-from-behind performance, winning the fight with a rear-naked choke submission in the fifth round. Her overall UFC record is 5-4. Miesha Tate previously held the Strikeforce title before losing it to Ronda Rousey in 2012.
