Melissa Vargas was awarded MVP of the Women’s Volleyball Nations League

The Cuban-born Turkish volleyball star Melissa Vargas was awarded Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the Women’s Nations League finals after Turkey lifted the trophy in the competition for the first time in history. Melissa Vargas also made the League’s All-Star Team as the best diagonal.

The new champions from Turkey have two more representatives in the “dream team” – the blocker Zehra Gunes and the libero Gizem Orge.

The silver medalists from China also have three volleyball players in the Ideal Team – setter Diao Linyu, Li Yingying and Yuan Xinyue. Poland, which won the bronze, was represented only by Martyna Lukasik.

The ideal women’s Nations League finals team:
Most Valuable Player (MVP): Melissa Vargas (Turkey)
Best Setter: Diao Linyu (China)
Best Diagonal: Melissa Vargas (Turkey)
Best Outside Hitters: Li Yingying (China) and Martyna Łukasic (Poland)
Best Middle Blockers: Zehra Gunes (Turkey) and Yuan Xinyue (China)
Best Libero: Gizem Orge (Turkey)
