Beijing 2022 Olympic champion Marte Olsbu Roiseland of Norway won the 7.5km sprint at the Biathlon World Cup in the Czech winter center Nove Mesto.
Marte Olsbu Roiseland knocked down all ten targets and completed the course in 19:28.4 min. It is her first win of the season and first since February 13 last year at the Beijing Games, when she took the title in the 10km pursuit. The Norwegian recorded the 18th success of her World Cup career.
Second was her compatriot Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, who made one mistake in the shooting and was 20.5 sec behind the winner. France’s Anais Chevalier-Bouchet finished third with a delay of 20.3 sec and one missed target.
In the general standings for the World Cup after 15 starts, the French Julia Simon continues to lead with 843 points, who today finished 9th with one error, ahead of Elvira Oeberg (Sweden) with 735 and Lisa Vittozzi with 675 points.
Racing in Nove Mesto continues on Saturday with the men’s and women’s pursuit.
