Marileidy Paulino triumphed with 400m gold at the Xiamen Diamond League

The reigning world champion and Olympics silver medalist Marileidy Paulino (Dominican Republic) triumphed with 400m gold at the Xiamen Diamond League. She finished in the distance for 49.36 sec, overtaking the Candice McLeod (Jamaica) and Lynna Irby-Jackson (USA) who finished for 50.19 sec and 50.45 sec.

Sada Williams (Barbados) and Victoria Ohuruogu (UK) remained out of the honors zone.

Marileidy Paulino won the silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and 2022 Eugene World Athletics Championships. in 2023, she became the world champion after winning the 400m gold at the Budapest World Athletics Championships.

At the 400m hurdles, the Jamaican athletes totally dominated, winning all the medals. The gold went to Rushell Clayton, who finished with a meeting record in 53.56 sec. Andrenette Knight earned the silver, while Janieve Russell was with the bronze, finishing in 53.87 sec and 54.01 sec, respectively.
