Marie Bouzkova WTA tour

The Czech tennis player Marie Bouzkova qualified for the third round of the WTA 1000 Canadian Open after bringing one of the biggest surprises of the tournament, eliminating the 5th-seeded Caroline Garcia (France) by 2-1 (6:4, 4:6, 6:2) in 2:16 hours.

First set started equally, as even the French player won the first break for 4:2, but Marie Bouzkova made a series of four consecutive games in a row to close it at 6:4 in her favor.

The Czech tennis player used the impetus in the beginning of the second set and took a lead of 3:1 with one break, but her experienced opponent stabilized on the court and equalized to 3:3. Both players succeeded to win their serve games, but in the 10th game of the set, Marie Bouzkova gave three break/set points to the French player at 0-40, which she succeeded to save, but finally Caroline Garcia won the 4th breakpoint and closed the set at 6:4.

The third set started with strong domination for Marie Bouzkova, who took a lead of 5:0 with three breaks, which made her task till the end easy, although she lost one of her serve games and closed the set at 6:2.

Thus, Marie Bouzkova advanced to the third round of the prestigious Masters’ tournament and will face the winner of the Russian clash between Anna Blinkova and the 10th-seeded Daria Kasatkina

For the third round also qualified Sloane Stephens (USA) and Jasmine Paolini (Italy), both without playing after walkover of their opponents Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) and Madison Keys (USA).
