Marie Bouzkova and Sloane Stephens will compete for the title in Guadalajara

The Czech tennis player Marie Bouzkova and the American Sloane Stephens will compete for the title at the WTA 250 Abierto Akron Zapopan in Guadalajara, Mexico with a prize fund of 239,477 USD.

Marie Bouzkova qualified for the finals after a win versus the Chinese Qiang Wang with 2-0 (6:3, 6:3). The match lasted a little more than an hour and a half.

In the other semifinal, the sixth-seeded Sloane Stephens defeated Anna Kalinskaya (Russia). The Russian took the first set with 6:3, and the champion of the US Open in 2017 equalized after 7:5. However, Anna Kalinskaya was injured and retired from the match before the decisive third set.

Marie Bouzkova is targeting her first WTA title, while Sloane Stephens was the 2017 US Open champion, and has won six WTA singles titles in total.
