German MMA fighter Mandy Bohm won her bout versus Ji Yeon Kim (South Korea) via split decision in one of the most interesting fights of the UFC on ABC 4 – Rozenstruik vs. Almeida
The fight startd with an illegal kick by Ji Yeon Kim, following which a point was deducted by referees scorecards. The kick came well after the horn sounded, so the South Korean MMA fighter was penalized. At the end of the fight, another illegal kick was made by Ji Yeon Kim, which caused another one point penalty.
Ji Yeon Kim got off to a very good start and had Mandy Bohm hurt early in the opening round. A right hand did the damage and Ji Yeon Kim immediately looked to get the fight down. She had to fight off a series of submission attempts with Bohm finishing the round in top position.
In the third round, Ji Yeon Kim came out aggressive, likely knowing that the point deduction could potentially cost her the victory. That led to her pushing Mandy Bohm against the cage. The German fighter ended up with her head down and a hand on the canvas, which technically made her a grounded fighter, when v threw a knee that connected flush on Bohm’s head and the referee was forced to pause the action once again due to another illegal strike, deducting another point.
These bad decision lead to split decision in favor of Mandy Bohm, who registered her 8th MMA victory and first in the UFC (ending her series of 2 consecutive losses).
In another fight of the UFC Fight Night, Tainara Lisboa defeated Jessica-Rose Clark via rear-naked choke submission in the third round.
