Malaika Mihambo won the long jump gold at the London Diamond League

Reigning Olympic and European long jump champion Malaika Mihambo (Germany) returned to victories and won the London Diamond League with 6.87m (-0.1m/sec). The German athlete achieved this result in her first attempt, then missed the second and fourth. She had trouble at the Paris Diamond League earlier in the season, where finished 7th only.

The women’s long jump silver at the London Diamond League went to Agate de Sousa (Portugal) with 6.75m (1.1m/sec). The winner of the diamond tournament in Paris and medalist of the Roma European Championships Larissa Iapichino came third in London with 6.70m (-0.2m/sec).

Milica Gardasevic (Serbia) and Katarina Johnson-Thompson (Great Britain) completed the Top 5 with 6.58m and 6.54m, respectively.

Malaika Mihambo is the current Olympic champion and 2019 Doha and 2022 Eugene World Champion, as well as 2018 Berlin and 2024 Rome European champion in the long jump. She is one of the top favorites for the title at the Paris Olympics, which starts in 6 days.
